Our unisex shoes come in whole sizes only. Our fit is true to size to a bit on the smaller size. We recommend to size up. If you typically wear a half-size, we recommend you choose a half-size larger. For example: If you typically wear a size 39.5, choose a size 40.

VELOUS groups styles into Originals (lifestyle classics) and Active (sport-water-leaning recovery). Colorways and occasional collab drops vary by season.

All VELOUS styles are built on the same Tri-Motion™ footbed—stable heel, contoured arch support, and flexible forefoot for a smooth, natural stride.
In our Originals, that footbed is paired with triple-density Foamotion™cushioning.
In our Active models, you get the same footbed geometry with a single-density foam, delivering a clean, consistent ride with a sport-ready feel.

It's easy! VELOUS shoes can be wiped clean with a wet washcloth or washed off with water. They are also machine washable at cold temperatures on the delicate cycle with other clothing items. 

To maintain the intended support, flexibility, and fit of our proprietary technology, keep your VELOUS shoes away from extreme heat; do not put VELOUS shoes in the dryer, or leave them exposed for long periods of time to the hot sun.

Weight varies by style, but one shoe in EU size 42 (US men’s 9 / women’s 11) weighs approximately 147–156 g, depending on the style.

Absolutely! Our patent-pending Tri-Motion™ technology has arch support built into the midsole so you will feel the perfect blend of cushion, arch support and flexibility.

VELOUS shoes are made from quick drying textile and a closed cell foam. The shoes absorb minimal moisture, so they’re very functional around water, and they’re quick-drying.

Not really. While it can take a moment to get used to our recovery footbed and cushioning foam, VELOUS footwear needs little to no break-in.

Our footbed is designed to help your feet move naturally and take pressure off tired muscles and joints—so it may feel different from your active shoes at first. That’s the point of recovery footwear. Give it a few minutes of indoor/outdoor wear to let your feet settle in; some people prefer easing in over the first day or two.

What do the letters mean?

• W = Women’s, M = Men’s. Example: W8 means women’s 8; M6 means men’s 6.
• On our unisex products, we list both equivalents together (e.g., M5/W7, M10/W12). We recommend choosing one size up than your usual men’s or women’s size.

Great! Plantar fasciitis occurs when your calves and/or achilles are too tight. In addition to seeking guidance from a medical professional, do lots of stretching and wear products that have arch support. VELOUS footwear has great heel cushioning and stability, relieving stress from the achilles, supporting your arch, and helping prevent pronation.

Our shoes are designed and developed in Portland Oregon and manufactured in our partner factory in Vietnam using globally sourced materials.

Your delivery date will depend on the method of shipping you selected at checkout. All orders require 0-1 business days to be processed and packed. Shipping days will begin after the order's processing time. 

We offer free standard shipping on every VELOUS order. Standard shipping takes around 1-2 business days once the order has finished processing in The Netherlands. Check below for other countries:

Orders are not processed on the weekends or most holidays. Orders placed on these days will be processed on the next business day.

After you place an order on velousfootwear.nl, you’ll receive an order confirmation email with your purchase details. Once your items are picked and packed, we’ll create a shipping label and a tracking number. You’ll then get a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link. As your parcel makes its way to you, the carrier updates that link with the latest status.

If your return request is approved and requires shipping, then you receive an email with shipping instructions and a return shipping label. After the product is returned, you receive a refund.
